"I lately got in touch with a father-son duo
named DerDrakos. They released one album so far named "Lust For Chaos" which
recieved excellent critics all over the world. Reason enough for me to review this one as
well, don't you think?" - by Gerardo

And oh my God! Just when you think you have
heard all the great cyber-punk-metal-techno-whatever bands all out there when you have
heard Deep Metal Mechanic, Punish Yourself, Diabolos Rising/Raism and T.Raumschmiere,
you'll get sucked into a living Hell when you hear the first tunes of this album. Darker
than T.Raumschmiere, more eccentric than Diabolos Rising and a thousand times sicker than
Deep Metal Mechanic! Absolutely insane!
The base of this band are clearly the beats. And not just average beats...
these beats are bashing all the schizophrenic vocals out of your soul! And when you are
crying and begging for mercy they add some straight to the point guitar riffs to complete
the suffering! And if this aint enough yet, they invited a female vocalist who is
able to make real diabolical sounds. Agressive, Satanic, insane and extravagant all packed
in one!
Next thing: the lyrics. What? Lyrics? I meant sermons! I quote a few lines
out of the title track of this album: Do you like some chaos? I got a lust for
chaos. Come closer. Look into my eyes. Chaos, chaos. I want chaos. Chaos. Sounds
like it has been taken from a ceremony in the Church of Satan directly, doesnt it?
And then the beats in this song, they sound mesmerizing and are almost forcing you to
create one big black mess into your room! I am sure this title track will scare some
kiddies on Halloween when they are ringing your doorbel...
Another track I would likt to say a few more words about is the eleventh
track named With No Mercy. This song is rather different than the things I
described earlier. In stead of hitting your brains with insane beats, this song is sailing
through the air and slowly creates a dark atmosphere around you. The only beats that are
used in this song sound like a heartbeat of a coldhearted serial killer who is ready to
slaughter his next victim. With this song, DerDrakos proves that they are able to make
people go insane without the use of a smashing beat in their songs.
Devils Paradise is another song of a different kind. Classical
based pianoworks have found their way in this track, and accompanied by a dark electro
beat and soft whisperings they make this song one of the more easy listening ones of this
album, but dont you ever try to underestimate this track!
The final track I would like to have a few words said about will be
Dictator Girls Rule. In this track it sounds like DerDrakos have eaten all the
powerful parts of trance, electro and hardstyle and shitted it out. The result is this
track, of course with a touch of their sick minds added. Maybe the most danceable track of
this album.
Well people, what is left to be said in the end about this masterpiece? This
album is a definite must for people who are known with the dance metal of Unk!, Reel and
in common, but consider their style too soft. And, people who like bands like Count
Nosferatu Kommando and Tamtrum will surely find a pleasant surprise in Der Drakos, because
these guys have created an unique style which has the potential to become very popular in
the hardstyle, the gothic and the metal scene! Not for the weaker soul though!
